An anonymous benefactor of St.; Mary's Hospital, Padd;jigton, has madehimself, liable for gifts totalling £105,000. Already he has given £55,000 to the hospital, and he has promised in addition to double every pound received from tho public up to £50,000. '
•The Duke of York, ia announcing this offer last night, said that neither he nor his wife, who is president of the hospital, knew the name of the donor. The only person aware of his identity was the chairman of the board of governors. '
