TORNADO IN ASSAM

Details have leached here of appalling havoc caused by the tornado in the Suihet district in Assani oh April 30. Already over 200 are reported dead, several Tiundr'ed; missiiig;; and 500 injured. , : ,". Scores of villages were destroyed and thousands 'of"inhabitants ai'6' homeless. It is feared that the death roll will be much heavier in remote districts, as scores of human bodies and those of animals are floating daily down the River Surma, where many, of the .fishing fleet and ferry boats were, overwhelmed. Belief parties have been sent to the" affected area.. •
