: TIMARU, This Day. The first round of match play of the South Canterbury women's golf championship resulted:—Miss Honvell beat Misst Cuthbertson, 5 and 4; Mrs. Hawkes beat Miss K. Johnston, by default; Mrs. W. A. Scott beat Miss W. Tizard, 4 and 3; Miss H. Loughnan beat Miss F. Pringle, 4 and 3.
Highfielcl Trophy.—Mrs. McMillan beat Mrs. K. G. Kerr, 3 and 2; Miss Hertslet bcat^ Mis. J. G. Johnston, 6 and 5; Miss McKevcher beat Mrs. Grant, by default; Mis. Stickings beat.Miss G. Campbell, G and 5.
