KIRK-WINDEYER - CUP

. AUCKLAND, This Day. The New South Wales golf team of five, three of whom arc on plus handicaps according to the- New Zealand system of handicapping, arrived from Sydney to defend the Kirk-Windcyer Cup. The team comprises Messrs. Apperley (captain and selector), Dobson, Cutler, Hughes, and Ruwald. "We have come over to play the game for the game's sake, and be equally happy in defeat or victory," said Mr. Apperley. The contest is to be played on Friday and Saturday next week at Middlemore. Accompanying tho Australian team, of whom only Mr. Dobson has visited New Zealand before, is Dr. Sidney Jones, captain of the team which visited New Zealand in 1928.
