THE TEACHING PROFESSION
-A, fancy dress party, well entitle! a "Fun and Frolic Party," was given recently by the staff "of the Island Bay School to entertain the four English and Australian ; exchange teachers who are in.Wellington at present. There was a very general gathering, the members of the school committee, and also of the: Home and School Association being present.,' , : ' . ■ There was quite a good response to the request to attend in fancy dress, over fifty appearing in charming costumes. A "mystery: trail"." began the evening, arid-all .. followed the clues which led here, there ; and everywhere, till the prize was discovered. The first pair to complete the trail were Miss Colwell and Mr. V. Howarth. Then followed games, competitions, and novelty dances. Songs were gievn by Miss Gilpin and Messrs. Kersey and Lambert. Supper was set in an adjoining room, and was much appreciated after a most amusing evening. All combined in singing "Auld Lang Syne."
