A slight westerly depression crossed the South Island yesterday and since last night a secondary has developed, the. latter being centred this morning oft the west coast of the South Island Cloudy to overcast conditions . have prevailed and rain has fallen In nearly all parts except the east coast districts :or . the Aortn Island. A change to moderate southerly winds took place during the night up as-far as Cook Strait, but over most of the North Island moderate to strong northerlles still ruled this morning.
