A COURSE RECORD
SILVER SCORN'S SUCCESS
United Press Association—By Electric Tele- , graph-—Copyright, :. SYDNEY, March 25. : The discovery of a loaded plate at the Moorefield races on Wednesday had its sequel at Warwick Farm yesterday, when the horses' feet were closely inspected before the start of each race. This will be done at all meetings in future. After Closing Time had led most of the way in the Chipping Norton Plate, Silver Scorn won; brilliantly amid a hostile demonstration. . Peter Jackson pulled up a trifle lame, but the trouble is not serious. Peter Pan cut up badly. Limarch, who was fourth, finished well with Blixteu. Eogilla put up an amazing performance in the Liverpool Handicap. He seemed in a hopeless position half a mile from the post, but had a slight chance at the three ■ furlongs. From that stage he finished brilliantly. It was the best effort for a horse of his type, in staging a comeback from a cup distance, in the memory of the keenest racegoers. Persian ran a fair race for four furlongs. Ke&ults:— FAIRPIELD HANDICAP, 6 furlongs.
