A JUMPER FOR CITY WEAR

Materials: Eight ounces of 3-ply wool, one pair No. .13 and one pair No. 9 knitting needles, five buttons.

Measurements: Width all round at underarms, 34in. Length from shoulder to lower edge, 20in. Length of sleeve from underarm, 19in.

The Back: , Using' No. 13 needles, cast on 129 stitches. Proceed to work in rib of knit 1, purl 1, for four inches. Change to No. 9 needles and work in pattern as follows:—lst row: • I^nlt 2, purl 2; repeat frorn^ « to last five stitches; knit 2, purl two rows until side seam measures 12 inches From the commencement.

Change to No. 0 needles and work in pattern, Increasing once at each end of the needle every sixth row until you have 97 stitches on your needles Continue without, increasing until you have worked 16 Inches in fancy rib from the cuff. Imitation Pocket Flaps: Using No. 13 needles cast on 2G stitches. Proceed 'to . work in garter stitch for one Inch.
