Pive O'clock Party. A very cheery five o 'clock party was given j'esterday by Mr. and Mrs. Stronach Paterson at their home in Pipitea Street, in honour of Miss Lulu Dyer, who is leaving for England by the Tamaroa. Pearson, Brooklyn, when they gave a party in honour of their daughter Eebekah. Mrs. ' Eeynolds, Palmerston North; Mrs. Dann, Auckland, and Mr. Eeynolds, formerly of Palmerston North, were among the guests. Games and other amusements helped to' pass the time pleasantly, and an excellent supper was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Pearson were cordially thanked for-their cheerful entertainment. , "■'■'-.• Gift Evening. ' ■■ . An enjoyable evening was spent recently at Miss Joan Benge's studio in honour of Miss Doris Press.- The hostesses for the evening were Misses B.- McL'elland, E. Ward, M. Press, and R. Chapman. The studio was suitably decorated for the occasion, and a very pleasant time was spent in competitions and dancing. After a dainty home-made supper, the bride-elect proceeded to open the numerous parcels, which contained some very" charming and useful gifts. Among those present were Misses M. and G. McGiU, Gordon, B. Soutery J. and W«' Eggie, J; O'Eeilly, M. and V. Brown, W. and T. Wallace, S. Brougham,; G. Peareo, P. Pahey,' V. Clemenson, V. Prentice, and W. Watt. Seatoun Tennis Club. ']•. ■ An enjoyable dance was';held under the auspices of the Seatoun Tennis Club in their pavilion. A large number of visitors, good supper, and good music all combined to make the., evening an outstanding success. Many interesting, and amusing novelties were introduced.
