The accused, it was stated, frequented shows in difierent parts of New Zealand looking for what he termed mugs .m an: endeavour to .get something out of them. During the if S aruawahia regatta ,he entered into conversation with a farm labourer ' in' a hotel bar, and.when the latter wentit* his room he found his wallet and his unemployment levy book missing, searched by the. police, the levy book; was found on the accused. '
