ihe racing of Rossendalewas restricted because he was out in the war years 1014----10, when the sport was -greatly curtailed in England He won the Newmarket graven Makes, beating Pommern, and the bandown Park Tudor Plate, beating Yaucluse, who won the One/.thousand Guineas tour days later. He ran third in the JJerby, .won by Pommern, and was successful in the Princess of Walds Stakes at xNewmarket, beating, among others iiJack Jester and Lanius. In .Australiaj a notable son of Rossendale was Kampion, now a successful'sire himself. Rampion won the A.J.C. Derby, the Victoria Derby, arid other races worth |in all £26 844. Breeders' Plate and Clibborn Stakes), Maple (winner of the WA T C Derby and St. Leger and of the Cauifield Lup), Jocelyn (winner of the A.J C Metropolitan), Pentheus, Panola, Remora, .Night Glare, Hampden, Maltdale, and .Ethics (second in-all the important events in India this year). In the United States | his son Yellow Hand was the best stayer of his year, and won £11,146. '
