. ■ • • '•— : — -tf _ ■ An enjoyable evening's =. entertainment was provided for a large number of men from the ships in port at the rooms'of the British Sailors' Society on Wednesday by iliss Dorothy Seymour and party. The programme consisted of songs, character sketches, elocutionary numbers, dances and a novelty item. One of the dancers was presented by JEr. Taylor with a gold medal for her work in assisting worthy causes. Items were contributed by Misses Dorothy Seymour, Phyllis Pope, Betty Capper, Rosina Smithers, and V. Roberts, Messrs. Smith, Lovatt. and George and Mr. and Mrs. B. Child. ' Misses Bessie Ferguson and D. Spinks were the accompanists. ■ A vote of thanks was carried with acclamation. Supper was served.
