Green Dragon Hotel at AVeltqn near Hull, England, for.it was at the Green Dragon that Turpin was arrested iv 1730 after his secrets had been, betrayed by the landlord's daughter.' The hotel.-which dates back to 1540, is being sold. A modern road house is planned as the new place of call. AVhen Bow Street runners arrived at the Green Dragon, one of the officers fell in love with the landlord's daughter, with whom Ihe highwayman was also in love. Then when Dick returned— so the story goes—she betrayed him to her new lover.
