SLAUGHTER IN ROSS SEA
-—■— ~—\ (Special to the "Evening Post.") DTJNEDIN,. March 13. Not many whales were seen in the Ross Sea by the Bear of Oakland during her trip from the. Antarctic. Their comparative absence was commented on-by those who had read of the great Hoss Sea whale slaughter by Norwegian whalers a few years ago. and it was remarked that the whales had evidently not yet recovered' from that clean-up, but killer whales were plentiful.
