LOWER HUTT BOROUGH

MEETING OF COUNCIL

The monthly meeting of the Lower Hutt Borough Council was held on Monday. The library committee reported that the library was being increasingly used, and that a report would shortly be forthcoming from Mr. Norrie on the question of improving the facilities. The works committee reported that the medical officer of health was pot satisfied with the present method of refuse disposal and recommended the' "Bradford" system. The committee had replied stat-. ing that the suggestions would be kept in view, and also that in collaboration with the Hutt River Board, arrangements were being made for a site a little to the north of the present tip, which it was hoped would be free from interference and woul.l be better able to be controlled by the council's officers.
