FREIGHT CONTRACTS

NOTICE TO TERMINATE

The Australian Dairy Produce Export Board and the Australian meat exporters have given notice to the Australian Overseas Ship Owners' Representatives' Association of their decision to terminate the present freight contracts at June 30. Shippers of general cargo, such as hides, skins, and pelts', have given similar notice. The board considers that ship owners have not given a satisfactory explanation of the disparity of £1 lls a ton in the case of butter and £1 10s a ton in the case of cheese between.the.-freights from New Zealand and from Australia.
