FINE OF £100
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HAWEKA, This Day. Pleading guilty to carrying on the business of a bookmaker, AVilliam Elder, tearooms proprietor, was fined £100 by Mr. ,T. H. Salmon, S.M., today, in default three months' gaol. He was also convicted and ordered to pay costs on a charge of keeping a common gaminghouse. " Elder was previously convicted on two charges of assisting keeping a gaming-house. Three men found _on the premises when the police raided them on ilarch 3 were fined £2 each.
