(By Telegraph—Press Assoeiatron.) HOKITIKA, This Day. The Westland County Council has appointed Mr. W. F. Ashley, of Napier, as engineer. There were thirty-nine applicants.
The Parliamentary Eecess Committee appointed by the Government to inquire into the cinematograph industry commenced the hearing of evidence today. The proceedings are in private.
