KEELERS' RACEJO KESTREL

Mr. 0. Dykes's yacht Kestrel scored a good win in the race for first-class keelers, held by the Evans Bay Yacht and Motorboat Club on Saturday afternoon, the Kestrel, with a handicap of 24 minutes, finishing only ten minutes after the Ailsa, off scratch. A good afternoon's sport was held in Evans Bay, a fresh northerly, breeze providing excellent sailing conditions. The second-class keel yachts' race was wou by the Nanette, off 2%min, though the scratch boat, the Galatea, was the first to cross the line. The race for firstclass centreboard yachts was won by the Phantom (Bmins) though the Kio II was the first boat to finish. The Betty easily won the race for the Kona-Jellicoe class yachts, the Kitty and the Idono filling the minor places. A protest was lodged after the race :by the Sue-lem which claimed to have been fouled by the Ji-tty and the protest will be considered at a meeting of the sailing committee on Thursday. In the race for second-class "eritreboard yachts the Rob Roy was the only boat to finish.
