CENTRE VISITS OTAKI
The members of the Wellington Centre paid their annual visit to Otaki at the weekend and enjoyed the hospitality of the local club. The green, due to the rain, was on. the heavy side, but, nevertheless, good play was witnessed. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdaines Rule, Bailey, Capewell, Gillespie, and Warnock. Guessing competitions were won by Mr. Hale (first), Mr, Cometti (second), and Mr. Kershaw (third). Mr. Rule, president of the Otaki Club, said it gave him great pleasure to see such a representative gathering. The visitors had proved good sportsmen, and appeared to have spent an eujoyabk day. Mr. W. Perry, on behalf of the Centre, thanked the Otaki Club for its hospitality and the splendid, games provided. Last year Centre members had had an enjoyable day, but the latest visit had been even move enjoyable. Mr. Perry congratulated the club on its green and surroundings, and thanked the ladies for their hospitality. It was always a pleasure, he said, to see ladies present and taking an interest in proceedings. The visitors returned to the city laden with flowers, fruit, and vegetables.
