'MILLIONS DIED NEEDLESSLY'
Millions of men who died in the war died needlessly, said Mr. Winston Churchill, when he spoke at a reunion iii London of tho "Royal Haval Division, which ho founded (states the "Daily Telegraph"). Referring to the Dardanelles campaign, he said: "History unquestionably will proclaim that if you had been supported as you should havo been —and ns God knows I did my lirst to secure—the history of the world would, have boon much happier, the history of the war would have boon much shorter, and thero would have been millions, of men alive today -who passed untimely from tho woilrt." Mr. Churehjll, turning to modern foreign policy, •=aid he believed wise statesmanship would keep Britain out of European war. "After making it clear," ho added, "that I believe wo can so handle our policy as not to be closely involved, I would also say this: That never would J tolerate language which is used, now hero and now there, to &ay that England can no longer rlo her duty, to say Ihat the people would not march or tho undergraduate light fo: King and country.
