Britain has handed a note to France demanding equality with the Belgian and American quotas. The "Observer" says that, following discussions, France restored the full: quotas on many cotton tissues. The President of the Board of Trade, Mr. Walter Runciman, rejected the Manchester Chamber of Commerce's suggestion that the ■ Government appoint a committee to examine the operation of the most-favoured-nation clause. * . ■ .
