Women aro. thtr principal smuggling offenders, according to a Customs official, who discussed with a "Daily Mail" reporter the report of tho Commissioners of Customs and Excise. This report showed that during the year ended March 31 there wero 3177 persons convicted of smuggling, compared with 2803 in tho preceding year.
