TRAFFIC CONTROL
«_ - LIGHTS IN MELBOURNE "The traffic system in Melbourne is an eye-opener," said Mr. L. J. Brabiri, a Wellington business man who returned from a holiday visit to Australia today. "All the traffic, pedestrian and vehicular, is controlled by lights, and you cannot cross the street against the lights, otherwise a policeman will collar you," he said. . The system of lights, continued Mr. Brabin, gave pedestrians plenty of time to cross the streets, and in this respect was a contrast to the system at the foot of Willis Street in Wellington. "After seeing' tho lights in Melbourne," ho added, "it makes you realise how ridiculous these things are here. The same system is to be adopted in Sydney from February 1. At the present time Rafferty 's rules prevail there, and you can't get across the street." .
