PLUNGE OVER BANK

MOTORING ACCIDENT NEW DEAN OF NELSON (By Telegraph—Press Association) CHKISTCHURCH, This Day. A sensational accident occurred at a sharp corner over the Greenburn Stream, 18 miles from Kaikoura, on the inland route early last evening, when a motorcar driven by Miss Noj-ah Haggitt, who was accompanied by the Yen. Archdeacon P. B. Haggitt and Mrs. Haggitt, skidded, ran over a steep bank, and plunged into- the bod of the creek about 100 feet below. The bodywork, of the car was smashed, every window, was broken, and the car came to rest upside down. None of the occupants was, badly hurt. Archdeacon Haggitt suffered slightly from bruises, Mrs. Haggitt received a large, cat on the temple, and Miss Haggitt suffered a bad bruise on the left ankle. Heavy rain was falling at the time of the accident, and visibility was bad. Archdeacon Haggitt was on his way from Christchurch to take up his new charge as Dean of Nelson, following eighteen years as Vicar of St. Mary's Church, Merivale.
