SWIMMING AT BRISBANE
BRISBANE, January 26. The Hawaiian, Kalili, demonstrated his versatility when he brilliantly won the 300 yards medley Australian swiming championship, introduced for the first time in this country, the' 100 yards breaststroke, 100 yards backstroke, and 100 yards freestyle. His time was omin 58 4-osec. '■
The Olympic champion^ Miss Claire Dennis, in winning the 220 yards breaststroke, broke Miss D. Thompson's Queensland recora by 12 l-ssec. The English visitor, Miss Joyce Cooper, gave all competitors a lesson in the women's 100 yards backstroke, her effortless, powerful strokes winning her the event in linin 13 3-ssec, which is 6sec better than Miss L. Venning'g Queensland record. Kalili and: Miss Cooper arc ineligible for titles. Results are:— ' •
