LONDON'S FOG
WORST THIS WINTER
CONFUSION IN TRAFFIC
FINAL DISAPPEARANCE
(BrlUib Offlclal Wtrelwi.)
EUGBY, January 25,
All traces of yesterday's fog, officially described as the worst this winter,'disappeared during the night.
Confusion occurred at some of the suburban railways last night. Services were reduced and trains travelled slowly, but the traffic was handled without accident to passenger trains. The fog was so dense in the southwesters suburban area that in one case a driver found it necessary to climb a signal post to see what the signal indicated.
On roads there were many crashes, and four persons are reported to have been killed and ' scores received injuries. In. some places, particularly around Wimbledon, it became necessary to discontinue train and bus services in the evening, and many private motorists found it necessary to abandon their cars for the night. -
