MISS A. BRANDON RETURNS

There was a very pleasant gathering at tho homo of Mrs. Brandon, Hobson Street, yesterday afternoon, when a number of friends of Miss Annie Brandon were invited to meet her. She has just returned from, a long sojourn of over twenty years in England and abroad, having spent the last two years in London, *

There were some beautiful flowers in the drawing-room,' carnations and tho new hydrangeas,• which .always make such ,an artistifc effect. •• Tho tea tablo in the dining-rddra, - was. charmingly arranged with pink \and mauve tinted carnations and feathery , greenery, set under a shaded liglit.. Mrs. R. Birch (Masterton) and Mrs. F. Hodson presided at the tea, and Mrs. Birch's two young daughters^were able and courteous little assistants.

Mrs. Brandon "received her guests, wearing a black 'silk liice over georgette frock, and MisS/ Annie- Brandon was in black summer clb,th, and a black hat. ' -
