CHRISTCHUBCH, January 26. Canterbury players figured {prominently in the semi-finals of the New Zealand croquet championships today. Results:— Open' Championship.—Third round: A.. G. F. Ross (Canterbury) beat Mrs. Caldow (Wellington), 26-0, 26-21.: Semi-finals: Boss beat Mrs. Clark' (Taranaki), 26-23, 26-14; F. L. Hartnell (Taranaki) beat Mrs. Kibblewhite (South Auckland), 26-13, 26-19.
Men's Championship.—First life: G. Hart (South Canterbury) beat E. J. Boss (Canterbury), 26-20. Final: A. G. F. Ross beat Hart, 26-2. In the second-life of the semi-final Hartnell beat H. A. Perm (Canterbury), 26-6, and will meet A. G. F. Ross in the final.
Women's Championship.—First life: Third round—Semi-finals: Mrs. Caldow beat Mrs. Pitcaithly (Hawko's Bay), 26----10; Mrs. Watkins; beat Mrs. Scandrett (Canterbury), 26-8. Second • life: "Third round—Semi-final: Mrs. Gilbert beat Mrs; .Anstis, 26-23. Final: Mr». Maddren beat Mrs. Gilbert,26-18. ,:
