: The results of the essay competition run by the Youth Peace Crusade through the Education Department have' been- anr nounced. Schools in the Wellington district - competed, ;> and' tli6 essays, were judged by Professor' Hunter, of Victoria College, and Mr. W. J. McEldowney,-chair-man of ' the League'of'^Nations Union. The first pt'iae went;to Karori School for an essay entitled :"Peace," written by June Blakeley, age 11, standard V. This essay was far in advance of any essays in standard VI, and extra prize money was allot ted" on this account.' The second prize essay, entitled "A Soldier's Dream: After Battle," was written by Nancy Rider, age 13, standard IV, of Hinernoa School, Bketahun'a. The third prize • essay was that of F.
