WINNER AT FIRST START
A quick icturn for their outlay was received by Messrs. T. C. and H, W, Wilson when Miss Rewa, whom they had. purchased a fortnight earlier, uon the Kaikohc Maiden Handicap at the Bay of Islands Meeting at Pukekohe last Saturday at her first start in their colours. The Messrs. Wilson purchased Mies Rewa in the belief that she was likely to make a good- brood mare, and they have every reason to be satisfied with her form last Saturday, even though the class she defeated was not strong. Miss Rewa is a five*year-old mare by Lapidary from Lady Rewa, by, Lucullus from Hinerewa, by Freedom from Black Watch, by Tasman from Abydos, by Nelson. This is a useful family, and among its good performers have been Waiiehope, Hohungatahi (A.R.C. Railway), and Red Sea.
