SEAMEN ENTERTAINED
VISIT TO DAY'S BAY
Anniversary Day at the Seamen's Institute, Whitmore Street, was spent in a very pleasant manner, a number of seamen from the s.s. Huntingdon and Cambridge, with mission workers and friends,. visiting Day's Bay. . Football, swimming, bush climbing, etc, were enjoyed until, owing to the rain, an early return was made to the7 institute, where tea was provided to over 70 men, under the. capable supervision- of Mrs. Stewart. Later an extensive programme of games, competitions, and musical items was carried oup. .','•'" The following were prize-winners:—Mrs. Bennett, stilt race; Messrs. Coburn and McGregor, hopping; Messrs. Stewart and Coburn, thread the needle; Messrs. Collins and Bounce, skittles;1, and Master Stewart, jun., best baby. Musical items were given by Miss E. Tunk (monologue), Mr. Bennett (song), Mr. William (whistling solo), and Miss M. Hill (recitation). Mrs. Collins was the accompanist. '...,■■„..' • . ■
