She intends to practise in Penang. Signor Mussolini is to receive seventy-two mothers from as many provinces of Italy, each one having the largest family in her province. He will present them with gifts, on the occasion of a "Mother and Child" festival instituted in connection with the Fascist birth-rate campaign, and will, thank them for doing their, duty to Italy. The Naples representative is th' 6 ' icothcr of nineteen children, ana the others have families the average number of which is fourteen.

At a meeting of the Wellington Hospital Board last evening, the chairman (Mr. F. Castle) referred to the death of Mrs. J. Altken, who was a member of the board from ,1917 to 1921." Mi. Castle said that Mrs. Ai.tken was the first representative of the Labour Party to be elected to the board. He moved that a letter of sympathy be sent to Mrs. Aitkcn's family. In seconding the motion, Mr. G. Pethorick said that the late Mrs. Aitken was specially associated with the social, welfare branch of the board's work and was always anxious to doj;he best for those in need. Mrs. Aitken rendered good service to tho board. The motion was carried" in silence.
