The second raeo in tho Z-class yachting championships, postponed this morning on account of "a'-heavy.'southerly squall, was started this afternoon at 3"o'clock in a strong southerly breeze, almost half a gale. • >~ Nine boats started, tho race being won Jay Porirua, which was tho only boat to finish. Christchurch, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers lost - masts in the hard squall. Invercargill and Plimmerton were dsqualified on fouls. Wellington and Kaiapoi wont into the .boat harbour to reef, and were also disqualified. After Porirua crossed the finishing line, Otago had nearly a round of the course to go, and withdrew. '
