PRICELESS HEIRLOOMS LOST
I LONDON, January 24.
While Lord Halifax's body was lying in the parish church Ijo yards away, thieves raided Hickleton Hall, his late home, and stole priceless family heirlooms and relics valued at thousands of pounds, • despite the presence of policemen on duty all night and 70 sleeping mourners, including Lord Invin, his son.
When the household awoke, rifled showcases were found on tho lawn. In addition to Lord Halifax's Star of India, a bag of pearls and a paper knife, the gift of King Edward, the stolen articles jncluded jewellery given by Royalty. *
