Kcports received from various districts state that thunder and lightning have been very frequent, and in some districts hardly a day has passed without an electrical disturbance, says the Suva correspondent .of the "New Zealand Herald," writing on January 17. A:report from Lautoka, on the northern coast, states that an Indian was killed by lightning in that; district on January 8. At the time Of the1 storm the Indian was ploughing. in • his • cane' field when he was struck by lightning and instantly killed. His horse escaped injury. It is also reported that in the same district a "number-'of cows belonging ■■ to the Colonial Sugar Refining Company were knocked over by a, thunderbolt,' some of them rolling, over on their "Hacks with''their legs in the air. However, they did not appear to. have sustained any damage and were milked later in. the day. '
