WEDDING
HENDERSON—STEWART.
On Monday afternoon at St. Stephen's Church, Shirley, the marriage was celebrated of Mataura Betty May, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Stewart, River Road, Christchurch, and Alexander Horace, only son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Henderson, ; Seatoun. Tho ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. N. Blakiston, and Mr. Pilling played tho wedding music. A frock of primrose angel-skin: lace was worn by the brid©, who was escorted by her father. To tho round neck yoke of the bodice, which extended over the shoulders, the sleeves were attached in pleats, the fullness being released at the elbows and caught again into long, tight cuffs.. Fullness was given to. the long-fitting skirt by means of two narrow central panels inset below tho hipline. Her* wide-brimmrd hat had a shallow crown, and was finished with a bow of doepor velvet, and she carried small yellow lilies,-roses, and I gladioli in her bouquet, which trailed almost to tho hem of tho skirt.
The bridosmaids were Miss Rani Stewart, a sister of the' Bride (chief), and Miss Joy Whitchead. Their frocks wero of meadow green angel-skin lace made with V necklines, piped with crepe do chene, which was continued diagonally tg the waistline. The skirts were long and fitting, a marrow central panel gradually widening to tho hemline. The long sleeves were softened with slight cowl folds below the shoulders and, they wore picture hats of lacy straw to match. They carried posies of orange-shaded gladioli, abutilcins, and fern. . , Mr. W. McKechnic was best man and Mr. Norman .Wallace acted as groomsman. A reception was hold at Claridge's. The bride's mother received the guests, wearing a frock of cocoa brown angclakin lace, the oval neckline being relieved with a tiny beige.vestee of frilled net. Her beige straw hat was swathed with wallflower and mahogany brown velvet tied in a bow at tho back, and she carried a posy of shaded mauvo gladioli.' ' • .. 1 ' 1 The bridegroom'sx mother wore a 1 black- lace frock, with an ermine necklet, and a black Bangkok straw hat. Her posy, was of; scarlet pinks and rowan berries. ' - \ , For travelling the bride wore a sum-ltter-weigljt Buit of\ cinnamon'1 brown tweed, a blouso striped in orange, fawn, and yellow tonings, and a straw hat to tone. Mr. and ,Mrs. A: H. .Henderson will make their home,in Christchurch.
