SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS.
A moderate anticyclone Is still centred north of New Zealand, while a deep westerly traversed, the South Tasman Sea, last ulglit, and was crossing Southland this morning. Strong winds to gales'have ruled from between west and north and temperatures'; have, been warm. Eastern districts have experienced fair weather, but in the ranges and districts with, a westerly aspect rain; has been widespread.: Hitherto the falls havo been mainly light to'moderate.
