CHARGE OF ESPIONAGE

It is authoritatively announced that Mr. Noel Panter is going to Leipzig, where he will be examined .by, a Magistrate on, a charge of espionage. It is alleged that the. arrested German journalist Ackerman. has furnished a statement, making the case against Mr. Panter very black. If the Magistrate decides on prosecution, Mr. Panter will be tried in the Supreme Court. The British Consul and Vice-Coneul saw Mr. Panter and the police recorded the entire conversation. Mr. Panter said that a German prisoner had been placed in his cell, necessitating caution, as ho feared ho might be an agent provocateur.
