It is reported today that 11 basic steel plants in Sheffield are now fully employed and production exceeds that of last year by nearly 1000- tons daily, while cutlery orders average 45 per cent, heavier than last year. Birmingham jewellery manufacturers are also working full time and skilled craftsmen are fully employed. The United Kingdom exports of wool products increased 48 per cent, in' September compared 'with the year before. Prices and employment also showed a marked advance. The demand'for steel products is by no means confined to the Home market and orders from abroad have shown an encouraging increase.
