A SCHOOLBOY JOKE
An inquiry by the headmaster of King Edward VI School, Chelinsford, Mr. 11. J. E. Bailey, into a prank played at tho, school, resulted today in Mr. Napoleon Henry Sonnett, of Sprinfiqld' Park Lane, Chelmsford, being suspended ifrom membership of tho school Old Boys' Association. Shortly before the annual inspection on Tuesday, of the school cadet corps was due to' take place a 7ft effigy of a schoolmaster, dressed* in cap and gown and football jersey and boots, was found hanging from tho flagstaff instead of the school standard. Mr. Sennett, who is now an undergraduate at Oxford, said: "My suspension is most unfair. Mr. Bailey asked me if I knew who was responsible'for the jbkej arid I said J. had a suspicion who it was, but would not tell him. I have now been forbidden to go near the school." Mr. Bailey is continuing his inquiries and has appealed to the boys to help him to trace the perpetrator of the prank, which,he described as' the work of an enemy of tho school.
