INCIDENT ON WARSHIP

Commenting on the incident on H.M.S. Diomede at Lytteltou on Labour Day, when certain New Zealand ratings sang the "Red Flag" because of unredressed grievances, the Minister of Defence (the Hon. J. G. Cobbc) slated today that he had been in communication with the Commodore Commnnding- concerning tho published reports. He had ascertained that «he mattor was quite trivial, and such as would jiot have been reported but for the statements which had appeared in the Press, The Minister deplored the wrong impression which may have been cre;itefl by the undue prominence given to so small an incident.
