Hundreds of tons of cIiJT collapsed at Lowcstoft, sending gardens tumbling into the sea and leaving houses within a tow feet of tho cliff edge. Waves, 30 feet high, washed the roof oft' tho pier pavilion at Scarborough, whero the seafront was littorcd with chimney pots and tiles. Bridlington Bay is crowded with sheltering ships. . v j
