Washable Coat-hangers
Coat hangers fitted with detachable washing covers of crash or art linen are both practical and dainty. The covers are easily made in the following way: Lay a hanger on the material and trace round it in pencil to mark the size and shape required, allowing for turnings. The covers should fit easily over the hangers, and should be about 2in deep. They arc joined along the top, with a small opening left in tho centre for the hook to pass through. To prevent them from slipping off when a coat or dress is lifted off theJiariger .the lower edges arc secured by two press studs, stitched inside, a few inches from each end. ■ The covers.should be trimmed with a few simple sprays of conventional designs, worked'in silk or wool, and a line of cable.or chain.stitch along the lower edge. If remnants of material are used the covers may be 'cheaply made, and sold at popular prices at sales or garden fetes. i
