WINOOKA THIRD
IN RACE AT BALTIMORE
United Tress Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received October 28, 2.30 p.m.) BALTIMORE, October 27. The result of the six-furlong race was SpringsteeJ first, Hopetodo second, and Winooka third. Winooka and Springsteel were favourites. Hopetodo was the first horse to find his stride, but ho gave way to de Valera after going a furlong. The latter set the pace to the head of the stretch and then retired. Dark Hope was well up in the early running, but also fell back. Springsteel raced in fourth position down the back stretch, and then began making his run. Around ' the turn ho came- fast, and when ho was straightened up in the stretch overtook Bandwagon when seventy yards from the finish. Winooka gave a much bettor performance than on Wednesday, and was up with tho leaders from the start. He was second at the head of the stretch, but weakened to finish a length behind Hopetodo.
