(By I'elezraph I'ren* Asvioianon.l ASHBURTON, This Dayi A fine of £40, as well as costs, was inflicted on W. J. 0 'Connor on a charge of selling liquor without a licence. The defendant, who was agent for a hotel in Christcburch, sold a man two bottles of beer, for neither of which be had an order. He said that ho had an order, but omitted to enter it. James O'Keilly, licensee ot' the South Eakaia Hotel, was fined two amounts of £4 each for selling liquor after hour?. Joseph O'Reilly, a bariiioiv for supplying liquor on one occasion, wheu tho licensee was absent, was fined £4. Other men, -who were on the pr*« mises were fined 40s each, - -'
