CONTAMINATED WATER
LONDON, October 18. Ten thousand of the 30,000 people in Kidderminster have been stricken with a mysterious epidemic of gastric enteritis, which is sweeping the borough with the swiftness of the Biblical plagues of Egypt. Doctors and nurses are working horoically. Businesses arc half-staffed, hundreds of children arc sufferers, and the schools are closed, says the "Daily Mail." •Tho epidemic is believed to lie duo to the contamination of the water supply after a drought. The water is drawn from a huge underground lake. Policemen arc patrolling the district, distributing- notices ordering the boiling of water for 10 minutes befovo it is lisnl. •
