MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.

| The arrangements made for Labour Day by the workers of the Missions to Seamen | Institute were most successful. At five o'clock tea was served to a large company of men. This was followed by games and sports till 8 p.m., when a bright musical programme was presented to a full house. The performers were Mesdames Collins, Mprrisby. and Good, Mr. Bennett, and Master Douglas Hill. Individual it»ms were interspersed with community singing. Mr. Alex. Jackson was at the piano. During the evening a presentation was made to Miss Thehna Colpus, one of the mission workers. The prizes won during the earlier part of the evening were also presented. A vote of thanks to all helpers, proposed by Captain Johansen, was carried- with acclamation. Last evening a fine programme was presented by members of the Working Men's Club Orchestra, under the baton of Mr. Cummings,'assisted by Miss Phil Nome, Messrs. Doug. Hogg, L. Bevan, Eoss Williams, Linton, Ken. Kigby, and Master Robert Leach. Mr. J. Sharp was in charge of the programme. Supper was provided and served by the Kelburn branch of the '■Harbour Lights" Guild, Mrs. Petrie being hostess for the evening. The .management wish to thank all who arc helping to make the work of the mission a success and to solicit their continued help as the Christmas season approaches.
