TROTS AT HUTT PARK
THE CUP TRIAL MEETING
GOOD DAY'S SPORT LIKELY
The Wellington Trotting Club's Cup Trial Meeting, to be held at Hutt Park tomorrow, has-attracted splendid racing I fields of good-class horses, and, with promise of the present fine weather continuing, there should be an excellent attendance to witness the sport. - The. course and enclosures are in firstclass order, • and the Autalisator." facilities' are now arranged to permit investors purchasing win and place tickets at the same. window. The live-shilling unit of investment will again be provided. In the main item, the New Zealand Cup Trial, eight horses have had their engagement continued, five of whom are in the New Zealand Trotting Cup, and the race should attract great interest and a sterling contest. / The card and brief prospects arc: — 12.30: PETOXE HANDICAP TltOT, of 130 sots; for trotters only; 3.42 cluss; 1% miles. 'Chiming Wrack . scr Nelson's Prlnco . 36 Gyrate scr Raclaim ....... 36 Norman Fox ... scr Resound 86 Roal Boy scr Amonos 4S • Bronte ...... 12 Speculator .... 98 Blue and Gold .36 Recent form points to Norman Fox's being prominent at the finish of the Petone Handicap, but he will have to be at his best to keep clear of Gyrate, who went a good race at v Oamaru. Chiming Wrack followed Norman Fox home at the southern meeting, and is also entitled to respect. Others who hold prospects are Bronte and Resound. The likeliest may be Norihan Fox. Chiming Wrack, and Gyrate 1.12: NOVICK HANDICAP, of 100 Sots; 3.45 class; 1% miles. Atraletlo scr, Marion do Oro . scr Attorney scr Match King ... scr Clem Dawe .... scr Red Gold scr Electric Bell ... scr Solarlo scr Flintlock scr Clem Dawe promises to make amends in the Novice Handicap for his defeat at Oamaru, where he finished fourth after drawing a place in the second division. Solario is a promising pacer, who may go well, and -Atralette, Attorney, and Red Gold should add interest to the contest. There will be backings for Clem Dawe, Atralette, and Solario. 1.3.4: OCTOBER HANDICAP, of 300 sots; 4.35 class; 2 miles. Bracken scr Major Llnd ... 12 Checkers scr Rajdus 12 Purser scr Roddy 24 Arabond 12 Meteor 48 Following his consistently good form at the August Meeting at Addingtou, Purser is entitled to go out favourite for the October Handicap. Bracken has a chance, provided she gets on the journey safely, and Arabond is overdue. The two on theback marks, Roddy and Meteor, may also be troublesome with, a good beginning. A good pair read to be Purser and Arabond. "2.36:-NEW ZEALAND CUP TRIAL HANDICAP, of 300 sots; 2.44 class; V/t miles. Brent Zolock ... scr Royal Slllt 12 Kewpie's Guy .. scr Clenrosslo 24 Logan's Pride .. scr Wrackler 24 Mountain Dell . scr Red Shadow ... 36 Mountain Dell will have a big following in the New Zealand Cup Trial.Handicap, in which she may find Red Shadow her toughest opponent to beat. Among the others, Kewpie's Guy should have most' friends, but Wrackler and Glenrossie are ' liable to strike their best form at any time now. Glenrossie is the, only one among the five New -Zealand Clip candidates (Mountain Dell, Royal Silk. Glenrpssie, ■ Wrackler. and Red • Shadow) who would incur a penalty for winning. The public will be with Mountain Dell and the Red Shadow-Royal Silk bracket. S.IS: BOROUGH HANDICAP, Of 150 sots; 3.37 class; VA miles. Cracker ....... scr Hemlock Hero .. 12 General Wrack .. 12 Guy Junior (mcl. Good Companion 12 rehep.) 36 Worthy Light Marie Celeste (Incl rehep.)'- 12 (mcl. rehep.) 36 For the Borough Handicap" General Wrack will have plenty of friends, and he should be able to keep Worthy Light and Guy' Junior busy. Others who will ■be fancied are. Marie Celeste and Hemlock Hero. Perhaps the best pair will be General Wrack and Worthy Light. 4.0: PRESIDENT'S HANDICAP TROT, of 130 sots ; for trotters only; 4.D7 class; 2 miles. Chiming Wrack . scr Raclaim SB Derby Thorpe .. scr Resound SB Norman Fox .... scr Blue nnd (3old . 4S Real Boy scr Nelson's Prlnco . 48 Bronte 1- Amonos 60 Norman Fox is a good stayer, and for that reason lie should be in the picture for the President's Handicap. Raclaim and Resound may be most troublesome, but Chiming Wrack, Bronte, and Jimonos are also entitled to present consideration. The earlier trot should assist in clearing the form for this event, and placed horses in the opening race may well be worth noting. On form a favourite trio is likely to be Norman Fox, Raclaim, nnd Resound. • 4 421: SHORT HANDICAP, of. 100 sots; 3.7 class; 1% miles. .Atraletto >. scr Marlon de Oro . scr Attorney ...... ser Match King ... scr • Blandford ser Red Gold scr Chronicler .... scr Solario scr Clem Dawe ser Worthy Member . scr Electric Ball ... scr Max HaTOC .... 36 Lord Wrack ... scr Attorney will be suited by the distance in the Short Handicap, and so will his stablemate, Blandford, but can this bracket beat Clem Dawo and Solario? These look the likeliest, but there are other fair prospects in Atralette, Lord Wrack, and Red Gold. The favourites may be Clem Dawe, Attorney-Blandford bracket, and Solario. 5.24: ELECTRIC HANDICAP, of 175 sots ; 2.48 class; IVt, miles. Bracken scr Wild Guy ......scr Checkers scr Arabond - 12 Gang Awa scr Crnganour 12 Nlcoya scr Meteor 24 Craganour is likely to monopolise the market for the Electric Handicap, in which Meteor will keep him doing his best all the way. Bracken is the pick of the others, with Wild Guy and Araboud also possibilities. The final investments may be mainly for Craganour and Meteor.
