St. Jude's Church Bazaar. The ladies of St. Judo's guild, Lyall Bay, have been untiring in their efforts to ensure the success of the annual" bazaar, which will be opened in the Parish Hall, Freyberg Street, by Mrs. Sprott tomorrow afternoon at 2.30. I A correspondent writes that, while tho | honour of being the first student going from New Zealand into the Indian Civil Service belongs to Sir William Marris, the honour of being the first born New Zealander to do so belongs to Mr. G. F. King Adams, 1.C.5., who was born at Lawrence, Otago, May 8, 1875, and educated at Dunedin High School and j Otago University, where he won many scholarships. Mr. Adams is the fourth son of the late C. W. Adams and brother of Dr. C. E. Adams, Government Astronomer, Wellington. He is now retired aad living in Belgium. Marsden Old Girls. Marsden School, Karori, will be the centre of festivities next weekend, when old girls of the school will arrive from all parts of New Zealand to tako part in the annual reunion. On Saturday evening a party for old girls will open proceedings, and tho visitors will attend the school sports on Monday when special events will bo provided for them. The annual tennis matches betweon old girls and present girls, which always arouse a good deal of interest, will be played on Tuesday, and on Wednesday morning a general meeting of old girls will be held. Invitations Issued. Invitations have been issued by the Khandallah and Ngaio Stocking League for the annual exhibition of work, which will be held in the Parish Hall, Khandallah, next week. Wadestown Weekend Sale. A sale of cakes, produce, and pantry goods will be held in the Presbyterian Church Schoolroom, Hanover Street, tomorrow.
